PANDA chair by Belen Hermosa

"The CDs are an important problem in terms of pollution. The polycarbonate is an expensive and hardly recyclable material when it comes from a CD. 4.232 of these containers of data, handed over by the company Sarbide, have been reused to form the panda chair, of modern and technological aspect."

The Form 07 by Aleksey Belyalov

Since my early childhood to me it was remembered, as the grandmother covered the chairs and armchairs with coverlets. In my consciousness till now there was that warmly and a cosiness of her apartment. Though having matured I have understood that it was done exclusively in the functional purposes ? as it is possible to keep a covering of furniture longer. As a basis of the form for these chairs those feelings of a cosiness and heat have served.

Stealing light by Bente Lund-Larsen

Bente’s designs tend to focus on the life of the object, exploring the impact of objects on people, often in social settings. Stealing light explores the boundaries of a chandelier’s presence. The main light has been infested with parasites. They feed on the host’s energy, using it to roam the table below, interfering with the goings-on at the table. Stealing light runs on low-voltage, and consists of wireframe shades dressed in pleated black silk.

Energy Bucket by Stefano Merlo

Nowadays, to save energy is one of the most pressing problem. This is already possible with the actual technology, such as low consumption led lights and solar panels; but actual products seem to be too far from people's uses and overall they require not so much interaction to aware people about the problem. Energy Bucket is an innovative product that comes from the habit of the past to collect potable water at the well using buckets. In fact, "Energy Bucket" requires to be exposed by the user under the solar light to recharge (thanks to the solar panels on top), so that it can be carried anywhere and illuminate once night (it works with 1KW led lights housed on the plastic bucket). A honest exchange between man and nature: I do something to have something back: clean light!

Strata Acoustic Panels by Gill Hewitt

Contemporary architectural interiors often contain planes and surfaces that are hard and reflective, being prone to uncomfortable flutter echo. Gill Hewitt produce bespoke textile panels that have been subject to extensive development and testing to ensure that sound waves are able to penetrate and be absorbed by a high performance sound absorbing substrate providing both aesthetic and acoustic benefit to interiors. Source fabrics are digitally printed or hand dyed and felting techniques are used to construct unique textiles. The substrate is made almost entirely of glass, over 70% of which is recycled household glass and glass wool.
