COMPOD by Wiesner-Hager

COMPOD – a new way of working

COMPOD was born out of a cooperation project with the Fachhochschule Joanneum university in Graz, Austria: Under the supervision of designer Martin Ballendat, students in their final semester of the industrial design course were given the task of creating a new approach to the future „Lebenswelt“ of the office. Their brief was to come up with ideas for organisation and space designs in the light of the ever-changing world of work. A central theme of their work was the relationship or crossover between working processes, people, space and products in a new context.

Philipp Haselwander, who has in the meanwhile graduated from the FH in Graz, is reponsible for the design of COMPOD. His objective was to create a simple, individual laptop workspace away from the everday work routine at a desk. A range of furniture that supports concentrated work on a computer just as well as creative communication.

EXPECTED CURTAIN by Mino Kodama

A curtain for the lonely person

The initial idea was to design something for a safer walk home. The screen printed silhouettes of people on a white curtain disappear at day time and only become visible at night when you turn on the lights inside. For the lonely person who likes to have a warm welcome at home.

CAVE by Sakura Adachi

In urban life, there seems to be a common understanding that people tend to consciously or subconsciously become wary of strangers surrounding them. They are always balancing a certain level of privacy with others. A bookcase CAVE provides a private reading space within its form. As a seat height is just above the floor, CAVE gives a feeling of hiding from others standing around it. Books can be stored on both sides. Therefore, CAVE can also functions as a partition of a room.

Garcia chair by Martin Mostböck

The concept of the "Garcia" chair (MAK - Museum of applied Arts Edition, Vienna) tranfers information in a visible and strong form - a logo - that looks like a “tattoo” on human skin. The “tattoo” shows part of the MAK-logo, directly painted on the “wooden” skin of the seat shell. Garcia is a stacking chair for event, seminar and conference. The Garcia-family presents itself as a rounded ensemble - four leg version and free swinging type, tandem, bar stool. The base is made of precision steel tubing, armrests are sheated with synthetic material or leather (model 1328), beech seat shell. Execution: base chromed or powder coated. Extra charge for special colours. Seat shell stained according to Braun´s colour chart and lacquered.

Upholstery: seat and back rest separated/PP or seat and back rest in one piece/VP upholstered with contract fabric from the collection or with customer´s fabric or with leather. Additional outfit: row linking, college board, seat and row numbering optional. Exchangeable floor glides, articulated glides on request or felt glides.
