NYC-based designer Abigail Shachat created resin-topped tables by casting live edged wood planks in resin and supported them using blackened steel frames. Resin requires significant structural support. Abigail’s primary design challenge was balancing the frame’s geometry to provide adequate support without sacrificing the lightness of the tops. Luminous, durable and surprisingly scratch resistant, resin tolerates water but not direct heat. Resin can also be resurfaced or repaired if damaged.

At first glance the White Desert Coffee Table seems to be a basic and straightforward linear form, however with closer inspection the "hidden" detail and element is revealed. At the centre of the table an organic wave breaks in the linearity of the volume. The surface takes a dip, forming an interesting and unique design detail; the newly discovered function opens eyes to new possibilities.

Diptère is two layered tray table. The upper tray is made out of wood meanwhile the lower tray is covered with gloss paint. An original unfolding system enables to double the table surface without the need of an external leaf. The two trays hinge on an offset axis to move above the legs : the surface of the table is multiplied by two by unfolding the upper part.

A transparent piece of furniture. Opposites like open/closed and concealed/visible separate the elements we normally do not show or see in a home. Objects that otherwise receive no attention are highlighted and the table works a bit like a museum of you.
