Piece movie is a joint project of Selfburning, artist Igor Skaletsky and drummer Eugenii Labych. Igor Skaletsky makes classic collages with the usual set of tools: a knife, a glue and a paper. This time he used pages from different magazines, such as Esquire, Vogue and Russian Afisha, some ad leaflets and other paper rubbish. That's why you can make out faces of some famous musicians, politicians and actors. Or at least pieces of them. Wide dubs of? acrylic paint fill the collage with vivid colors and texture.

There were made about 5 or 6 collages. The process of making each collage was photographed: one shot in 2-3 minutes. There were almost 700 shots. The sequence of all shots was cut to layers and supplemented with 2D animation. The movie's 2d space is separated by video, in which the artist is making his collage. The idea of involving this 3d part in the movie came spontaneously. Creeping pieces of paper, the monster growing of paper and destroying the artist at the end of the film do not have any implication.

For Piece they needed a soundtrack, which would emphasize the torn structure of the collages. So music is as rowdy as the artist's works. It is played by a friend and drummer Eugenii Labych. His solo improvisation on drums was recorded in a studio, then the most interesting parts were chosen and collected in one track, in which one drum rhythm is superimposed on another. The were no effects applied on drum sound. So it sounds as rowdy and row as we expected. Also to the movie are added some sounds like reports, screams and knocking to illustrate different moments.
