Sony at Salone del Mobile in Milan

For the first time ever, a showcase of Sony Design was revealed exclusively as part of the Milano Salone del Mobile 2010 exhibition last month. This was a visual insight into Sonys creative essence and evolving approach to future living room design. Sony showcased its Monolithic Design; a new design concept recently introduced across its TV and home entertainment range. This design concept was ignited by a passion to bring about change in peoples attitude in relation to their living space and encourage a change in lifestyle behaviour through the presence of these TV and home entertainment products.

For this exhibition, Sony invited Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby to work alongside Sony designers due to their credentials in furniture and lighting designs, to push the ideas to a new level. As leading contemporary designers they bring a new interpretation of individuality, lifestyle and experimentation to this project. Sonys design team have worked with Edward and Jay to explore the minimal essence of the Monolithic Design concept as inspiration to co-create the look and feel of the space and the pieces within it.

NuFormer Projection for SONY

Immediately after the finals of the UEFA Champions League 2010, Madrid had the scoop of two 3D projections. Commissioned by Sony, NuFormer developed two beautiful projections on two different buildings on two different locations in Madrid. The 3D projections turned the facades of the buildings into two giant pinball machines in which soccer played a central role. Speechless!
