World Industrial Design Day

The International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) has declared June 29 every year to be World Industrial Design Day. Designers and institutions are called on to stage events in celebration of the day. This year’s theme is “Industrial Design: Humane solutions for a resilient world”. The frequent natural disasters in our recent past were the reason for choosing this particular theme. The organizers hope to motivate designers to participate in collaborations that help to “reduce people’s suffering and make the world better equipped for disasters.”
