S3 is a sofa table which connects the table legs to the table top without the use of any fasteners. The design is simple and functional, making set
up and take down extremely easy. The table top press-fits into the leg profiles and is stabilized through tension.The table legs are constructed from
sheet metal which is lasercut and then bent into a channel profile. Cut-outs in the sheet material are design features as well as functional elements.
The slots indicate the location of the bends, ease the bending process and reduce the weight of the piece as well as adding visual interest. The
table top is constructed to press-fit into the leg profile. The sides of the table top give stability, reminding of a table cloth, draping over the table.
The table top can be constructed from wood, particle board, laminates, plastic or corrugated cardboard.
