DMY BERLIN pictures @ FACEBOOK

BERLIN CALLING - Visiting Berlin is always great with or without a design event. This years DMY Berlin central exhibition at Tempelhof took place without the old entrance of the airport ... what a shame - this space has this special WOW effect. The space Tempelhof Airport is so amazing - especially the great field in the back of the hangars. In Europe there is no other space like this. This years DMY Berlin shown pieces / designer / schools / workshops / symposium  etc. had the same quality as the last years. Including some big names like Eric Speikermann ( Type designer, information architect and author of books and articles on type and typography. (DE) ) , Eric Chen ( Independent Curator and Publicist, Creative Director – Beijing Design Week 2011 (CN) )  and Paul Gardien ( Head of Design Strategy & Design Innovation, Vice President Philips Design (NL)

Visiting DMY Berlin just for one day including a pretty long TV interview - is not enough time - next year we will spend more time and visit all the satlitte exhibition.

DMY Berlin is special and has it's own vibe and we really love it - Berlin is sexy.

Find our picture album ( 200 pictures ) at facebook and here a small selection here in the gallery.

YOUR RAINBOW PANORAMA - Olafur Eliasson

PREMIERE 28 May 2011

It is with great pleasure we announce that as from Saturday 28 May at 10am the public will have access to the Danish/Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson's spectacular artwork, Your rainbow panorama, on the roof of ARoS.

A SPACE WITHOUT BOUNDARIES

Olafur Eliasson describes the project in the following words: “Your rainbow panorama enters into a dialogue with the existing architecture and reinforces what is assured beforehand, that is to say the view of the city. I have created a space which virtually erases the boundaries between inside and outside – where people become a little uncertain as to whether they have stepped into a work or into part of the museum. This uncertainty is important to me, as it encourages people to think and sense beyond the limits within which they are accustomed to moving”. The realization of this unique rooftop project has been made possible through a partnership between ARoS, the Municipality of Aarhus and Realdania, in that Realdania are financing the establishment of Your rainbow panorama.

Olafur Eliasson has created this permanent work of art in the form of a circular walkway 150 metres in extent and three metres wide made in glass in all the colours of the spectrum. The spectacular work of art has a diameter of 52 metres and is mounted on slender columns 3.5 metres above the roof surface of the museum.
