Entropia
Entropia is designed by Lionel T Dean, FutureFactories. FutureFactories designs exclusively for Direct or Rapid Manufacture (Rapid Prototyping technologies applied to the manufacture of end-use products). Entropia is manufactured in laser sintered nylon, SLS. The form explores the complexity that digital manufacture can offer, not through the use of geometric patterns/repeats but using the chaotic language of growth, mutation and evolution.
Entropia is produced and marketed by Kundalini of Milan, a company synonymous the avant garde. Kundalini are the first recognised manufacturer other than a Rapid Prototyping bureau to adopt this technique for volume manufacture. This represents a significant milestone for the design industry as Digital Manufacture becomes increasingly viable for niche to medium volume manufacture.
