I show you how much energy your home is using at any given time. I can show you in watts or in £s (ouch!). I can even show you in colour-changing light. I get my information from a transmitter attached to your electricity meter or fuse box. I am portable, so you can put me anywhere you like in your home. The idea is, if you can see how much electricity you’re using, it’ll help you use less. The people who invented me have found you can save up to 20% on your electricity bills. That’s quite a lot of money–enough for a new pair of shoes, or a candlelit dinner in a smart restaurant. And, of course, you’d be doing your bit for the environment.
