Architecture 0 New venice in East Tilbury
Conceived as a reaction to current environmental issues. New Venice confronts us with our own consumption and mans constant drive to progress. Inspired by Venice the project uses canals to distribute and sort London's municipal/commercial waste creating awe inspiring spaces where all scale is ambiguous. The site in East Tilbury next to the River Thames provides an ironic setting, formerly the utopian Bata manufacturing town, now home to Europe's largest landfill site.
