Förderturm-Ring

The ring represents in a reduced form a shaft tower – inspired by the shaft tower of the "Zollverein", a former coal mine in Essen, Germany. In 2001 it was inscribed into the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites. The coal mines design was architecturally rooted in the style of New Objectivity. Based on geometrical and symmetrical design of “Zollverein”, the ring is reduced to the basics. As reminiscence against his technical model the wheels are loosely mounted.
