Architecture 0 Portscapes
For the exhibition Portscapes which reflects on Rotterdam’s monumental harbour extension, Overtreders W designed shipping containers out of textiles. These iconic symbols of the harbour are fashioned from fabrics of differing transparencies–voile, cotton and cheesecloth–providing a physical and intimate backdrop for the artworks, many of which include visuals and sound. Through the play of transparencies they paint an illusory image of docklands in reference to a harbour that’s not yet built. Designer: Overtreders W (Netherlands) |
