Gabrielle Ammann Gallery presents Resinite

@ DESIGN MIAMI - Nucleo plays on the presumption to design the future of its objects making them fossils of themselves. As with the trace fossils where we find the imprint of the original item, in the same way the implementation process that creates the object leads to the destruction of its original. The first object of the RESINITE collection is “Resin Fossil Table”, handmade using fiberglass and pigment, the table consists of a single empty block that accurately traces the object from which it takes shape.

BY THE WIND

“By the wind” is the new Nucleo research. The concept is creating a surface with a high degree of uncertainty as natural phenomenon like a snow storm.
The semi-finished object is coated by a process which makes it similar in surface to a natural object buried under a blanket of snow. During the Milano Fuori Salone 2010 at the temporary Nilufar Gallery in Via Tortona, Nucleo makes an everyday performance. The performance consists in recreate an artificial snow storm every hour.

Evening dresses by Mila Schon

The exhibition is opened from 20th December 2009 to 18th April, 2010. The art direction, graphic design and exhibition set up will be developed by Nucleo design studio. It’s a challenge that Nucleo welcomes with enthusiasm since it entails dealing with the imposing and impressive early Twentieth century space that is the Salone degli Incanti in Trieste.

Primitive process / on the skin

Piergiorgio Robino invited Clemens Mueller, a young and highly talented designer from Dortmund (Germany) to contribute, with his own art, to Primitive Collection, the Nucleo’s latest open source project.
Mueller has developed four photographs where white is stratified as a casting resin on his skin. The images interpret the process and energy of Primitive, as if in a human body the muscle and structure could be covered by a thin layer of resin, freezing the expression forever.

Active in contemporary art, design and architectural fields.

In 1997, I asked myself what would future design be like at the threshold of the 3rd millenium: Nucleo was the answer to that question.
I took open source software as my inspiration, designing with an open code through which I involved different designers who had the same language in common, so in this way developing new projects all different but connected at the same time.
Nucleo is the synonym of research, innovation, introspection.
