Super futuristic plastic organic, and coming out of the shadows. Born from Diplomat’s stable of experimentation, Zuki is a chair where real and digital meet. Never entirely trusting of digital design, Ashley and Matthew continuously find themselves subverting the CNC machined components and adapting them with their intuitive form making skills to produce unique hybrid collector pieces.

“Bronzeknuckle” are designed as centre pieces for dining and social occasions which, with a marriage of digital and hand carved forms, serve as sculptural fruit bowl or trivet. The outer edge is polished to highlight the liquid blend of intersecting rings and contrasts the internal brushed surface. Each piece is signed and numbered in cast solid bronze leveraging the creative use of materials and beautiful forms that Ashley Hall and Matthew Kavanagh have become known for.

This sumptuously proportioned contemporary lounge chair suits both contract and domestic use. The seat shell is manufactured in an integrally moulded polyurethane and is available in an exciting selection of colours and fabrics from wool to leather and a choice of pedestal, cantilever or wire sled bases. Palm is born out of the search for definitive comfort in a lounge chair in and expresses this in a visually inviting organic form.

The Omega wine rack takes its form from the name. In this case literally from the Greek letter omega. It was devised as a light hearted alternative to the designs within the current domestic landscape and centres around the idea of form as a volume, effectively filling all the space around the wine bottle with vibrant colour, whilst adopting a profile that visually ties them together.

Zilla is an experimental lounge chair made from a composite construction of materials that include glass, aluminium and epoxy. Diplomat have used a ‘continuous craft’ process that leaves visible construction marks. Its part of a production approach that leverages Ashley & Matthew’s making experience to produce short edition collector pieces.
