Newcastle University

The highly durable and extremely versatile solid surface material HI-MACS® has been used extensively in the high profile refurbishment of the five storey Students Union in a listed building on the 180 year old Newcastle University campus.
The contract was awarded to leading architects FaulknerBrowns Architects who worked closely on the specification and design with Newcastle University project chief and executive of the students union Simon Gerry and the fabricators from MSF.

Green Waters

Showroom Remmelt

Interior designer Remmelt van der Wal recently opened his new Remmelt interior design studio in Amsterdam: a unique location in an impressive monumental building next to the Rijksmuseum.
Remmelt’s style is minimalist, cosmopolitan and industrial. The interior designer worked extremely hard to convert the building into an exclusive design studio. The 200m², the studio is a showcase for innovative made-to-measure solutions for all kinds of interior space using the Solid Surface HI-MACS®.

Globetrotter Munich

Globetrotter Ausrüstung opened a new branch at the Isartorplatz in Munich, Germany. In a retail area of 6,500 square metres outdoor enthusiasts can find everything their hearts desire: a range which includes rain chambers, canoe pools, climbing tunnels and also a high-altitude cold chamber made using HI-MACS®.

HI-MACS® selected by Ora-ïto

HI-MACS® was chosen by eminent French artist Ora-ïto for his entry into the recent Wallpaper/Reebok exhibition in London. Fabricated by Candido Hermida in Spain, the wall-mounted installation is a topographic landscape interpretation of the Reebok RealFlex shoe.

Open Lounge - Raiffeisen Bank Zurich

reOrder exhibition at Brooklyn Museum

Dolcevita Collection

Dolcevita is an exclusive sculpture-object with a minimalist - sinuous, yet uncomplicated – design by Italian architect Giorgio Palermo, using the Solid Surface HI-MACS®.
Dolcevita collection is the result of the most meticulous research into new and exclusive materials and the most up-to-date technology with a luxury look, which lead the architect to choose HI-MACS® for the lamps in combination with an innovative lighting system with dual LEDs, as well as Swarovski glass.

Deventer Theatre

The Deventer Theatre, a theatre complex with cinema and apartments in the Netherlands, has just been redesigned by M+R Interior Architecture who used HI-MACS® extensively throughout the entrance hall.

Blend handrinse collection by NotOnlyWhite

Designer Marike Andeweg won the iF 2011 product design award with a bathroom collection made in HI-MACS® for her design label NotOnlyWhite.
The organic-shaped Blend handrinse basin extends fluidly to form the 6cm high splashback, giving it a nostalgic look. The Blend is completely made out of HI-MACS® Alpine White. It is attached to the wall with a virtually invisible stainless steel bracket.
The versatile Blend design basin forms a perfect combination with the Frame cabinet collection.

Horn HI-MACS® for iPod

Horn is the new HI-MACS® hand-made art piece, designed by the Korean architect Shi-hyung Jeon in collaboration with the HI-MACS® team at LG Hausys. The design delivers a full spectrum of sounds while aesthetically it reinterprets the line of the traditional Korean clothes in a contemporary style. After several technical tests with different materials, HI-MACS® was demonstrated to be the optimum choice for the speaker cabinet. Horn is made especially for IPod devices.

Torre de Cristal interior design project

The A-cero studio interior design project was implemented on the top floors of Madrid’s ‘Torre de Cristal’ (Crystal Tower) skyscrapers. The interiors of the 249 metre-high skyscrapers are designed by Joaquin Torres and his partner, Rafael Llamazares using HI-MACS® Natural Acrylic Stone in Alpine White and Black colours. This required the use of 152 sheets of HI-MACS® and a total surface area of 425.11 m2.

HI-MACS® wears ALV at Milan Design Week

Well known Italian fashion designer Alviero Martini and internationally famous young architect Fabio Novembre, have chosen HI-MACS® for the new showroom “ALV” in the centre of Milan.
And the result is amazing: 500sqm of concrete, a tangible expression of Italian design, the showroom structure and concept cut across the borders between the worlds of fashion and architecture.

In the thrilling setting of Milan’s Hotel Nhow at Zona Tortona, LG Hausys presents TWISTED, an eclectic furniture collection designed by Philip Michael Wolfson and entirely made of HI-MACS®
The exhibition, a great success at The Dock gallery during last year’s London design week, will be now on display in an entirely new installation ’IMAGINARIUM’ - designed by Italian architect Francesco Lucchese.

HI-MACS stand at Imm Cologne

HI-MACS® impressed once again their visitors with a superb stand at the recent Imm Cologne 2010. The installation “Office Reception” was a perfect combination between smooth thermoformed surfaces and a futuristic view of interior design. Designed by Spanish architecture studio A-Cero Joaquin Torres Architects and fabricated by Candido Hermida.
