Blattella

Blattella explores the beauty of insect forms; creatures invoking an instinctive repulsion and disgust. In spite of our discomfort they remain fascinating, we cannot avert our gaze from their curious articulated movements. Here they swarm around the light source drawn to the glow. Their bodies are bright with a translucent purity that belies associations with filth and squalor.

Headdress

The headdress project is wearable lighting that is a fusion between lighting design, fashion and jewellery. The familiar FutureFactories language of alien landscapes is used to create a set of illuminated headdresses. Lit by high intensity LEDs the headdress will run for the entire evening on the power from a mobile phone style battery clip. There are currently two pieces in the headdress collection with more expected to follow.

Icon

Icon is a limited edition off 100 individualised jewellery pieces digitally manufactured in titanium using Direct Metal Laser Sintering, DMLS. Generated from a virtual meta design, each of the 100 iterations is ‘printed’ as a real-world artefact directly in titanium. Each variant retains the key features and flavour of the underlying design whilst being truly individual. Each piece is authenticated by an iteration number built into the form.
