Vällingby

3XNs winning proposal for the new structure marking the entrance to Vällingby Parkstad symbolizes the soft values of the ABC-2.0 vision; to create a close relation between work life, housing, and leisure. The building’s curved design embraces the area and the lively shaped balconies opens up the structure towards the surroundings thus raising the park up in the air. The dense city structure at the base adds activity at eye level and life thrives on active roof tops and flowering balconies.

Danzer

Danzer Light is composed by 180 pyramid shaped elements but consists of only four base components. The shape is developed using a mathematical principle on aperiodic tiling by Ludwig Danzer. All elements have shared faces and can therefore, like toys, be reconfigured in endless combinations. The pyramids are built in aluminum with an integrated light in each element. The electric current is conducted through the aluminum, meaning that Danzer Light functions without any wires.

3XN values curiosity, originality and poetry and has a multi-layered approach. We work with user-centered methods fitting each project uniquely to the users and our client – with a strong emphasis on designing for human beings. We build on a Scandinavian tradition of functionality, clarity and beauty. Each project is a research endeavor that adds to our experience and approach. Each new project rests on the shoulders of many others, yet challenges everything done before. Our thorough knowledge of materials, engineering and user needs combined with our organizational strengths in economy, project management and implementation set us free to explore new frontiers and to challenge existing frameworks. We work in the confident knowledge that we can make playful and poetic architecture jump from the drawing board and come alive. 3XN translates poetry into reality and aim for our architecture to become the heritage of tomorrow.
