This is a light and elegant easy chair. I was concerned with expressing both structural and sculptural qualities in the wooden frames.
The chair is conscious about being an functional object, but is not restricted by its functionality.

Room for Squares is in american elm, cotton canvas and leather strips. Inspiration has been traditional japanese architecture and carpentry. The construction displays a harmonious relationship between solid materials and the space surrounding them. The different components are arranged to emphasize the inherent beauty and warmth in the materials, thus constituting a sofa with broad appeal and a unique character.
