m.&mmeThe pieces I makes have always developed from a curiosity; a curiosity towards materials, their travels and the stories they tell. With this project, I try to use the stories of my materials in order to create new and strong narratives with them. If you look closely, you will notice a human element is added to the designs, which makes the “story” behind the creation more authentic.

stools&benchesall the pieces in this collection are characterized by a similar working process in which mortise-and-tenon joints are used to connect hazel branches to an oak top. A mixture of sawdust and glue is used to fill and round off these connections, resulting in an esthetic, organic form in which no sharp edges remain.

krukjeThe inner body of this stool consists of cut-offs from aged and weathered ship planks, a mixture of Yellow Balau and Red Ironwood. They are puzzled together and enclosed by a thick polyester skin that binds them. The surface is finished by hand, giving the stool a very light and soft look.
