Younes Duret Design x Sergio Rossi

Younes Duret, the french-Moroccan designer of the store in Casablanca, combines strong Moroccan ethnicity with a creative transgression to design a liberated and inspiring space. The motifs Duret has used are a modern inflection on an ancient form, as he creates a composition consisting of a mantelpiece of a repeated 3-dimensional oriental pattern as the platform for the men’s shoe collection.

Bildi

BILDI OR ROUMI TEAPOT?
In the shape, it is a traditional Moroccan teapot made flat, but for the volume, it's made with an industrial technique which is one of the most efficient and profitable : extrusion.
The opposition of these two universes gathered in one object raises the issue of the ambivalent link of love and hate that can exist between artisan and industrialist.
This product will be exhibited at the 2008 Saint Étienne International Design Biennial.
