chess republicLife is a playground! Designed by omletistanbul, Chess Republic adds a new dimension to the game of chess. When it's not in use the pieces are placed in the board forming a flat surface. Thus the king, queen and the pawns come down to the same level. When it's game time the 2D pieces come out of their resting places in the board and stand. The pieces, the upper board and the cover are made from plexiglass while the lower part of the board is made from corian.

birdyBirdy shelf is designed influcing from pop- up story books’ logic of excluding from each other. The shelves and bird shaped book holders all come (pop-up) from the same surface. The shelves of the foldable product can also be gathered one within the other. Setting up the product is too easy, you can build up “Birdy”without using any fixing element.

The Figure's RefusalThe coasters designed by omletistanbul for santraldükkan came into existence by the transformation of two Abidin Dino artworks, 'Hands' and 'Bizarres' into 'objects about life'. The central theme of the design is based on that the main figure are dominant. In these 'Pop-up' coasters Abidin Dino's figures come out of the frame as if holding the glass. Thus the figure is still in view even in use. Ironically this design could caricaturized as "The Figure that Refuses To Be Defeated."
