ziprockerFrom January 19 to 25, latest results of the Zipshape research are on display at imm cologne. The project was a cooperation of the Fachschule für Holztechnik Hamburg (Hamburg school for timber technology) and schindlersalmerón. The experiments were carried out with the example of a cantilevering rocking chair realized in walnut and cherry wood. The presentation is located in hall 3.1, stand U031.

zipchaiseThe zipchaise demonstrates a method that makes it possible to fabricate single curved panels from any plain material without molds or jigs. The system uses two individually slotted panels that interlock when bent to the predefined curvature.

tischgestellThe tischgestell is a table frame that can be set up in seconds and without tools. The interlocking crossbars swivel in the centre like scissors, without any visible connection details. The table plate is laid on top without connection. All bars are black powder-coated, oval profile steel tubes welded to each other.

kleiderleisteThe kleiderleiste is a coatrack with customizable length. It is produced in standard dimensions of 60, 80 and 100 cm and in any desired length up to 285 cm. Its characteristic feature is the clothes’ alignment to the wall which makes it especially suitable for narrow spaces; its thickness is 5 cm. The material is brushed stainless steel.

aluminium stoolThe light and stackable aluminium stool is assembled from three identical thin aluminium sheets that are stabilizing each other by spatial folding. Powder coatet in white, silver or black. Height 43.5 cm, weight 1.6 kg.
