People Portraits Banksy versus Bristol Museum
Last Saturday the Banksy Versus Bristol Museum 2009 opened in the artist’s hometown of Bristol and here is the official teaser and pictures of the show. The video tour of the artist’s biggest exhibition to date, includes over 100 works, more than 70 of which are brand new, while many of the others, such as the painted toilets (or portaloos) have been reworked. Banksy Versus Bristol Museum is supposedly the street artist’s biggest, most comprehensive non-retrospective. Banksy has gained notoriety in recent years by using stencils to paint images on a diverse array of outdoor locations. This is the first exhibition in a three storey Edwardian museum. The show runs through August 31st, meaning there’s plenty of time for the Banksy obsessed to try and figure a UK trip into their summer plans. More images of the street artist’s installation after the jump. watch out for the exhibit video on youtube Bristol's City Museum & Art Gallery is proud to present a unique
collaboration between the city's foremost cultural institution and one
of the region's most infamous artists. |
