Cologne based architects Christian Hartmann, Christian Dieckmann and Robert Wetzels have chosen a very special location for their brand new office: the abandoned TV tower right in the center of city.
The idea for that remarkable challenge to revive the old TV tower was born 2008: During the plan, an forum for contemporary architecture which is taking place once a year, Hartmann, Dieckmann and Wetzels realized the extraordinary project to illuminate the television tower with the help visual artists.

In January 2009, the upcoming team finally moved into the rotund pavilion which represents the foyer of the striking building. They installed ten working places and a separate kitchen zone with all usual equipment. Inside the formerly elevator corridor they put a large conference table with presentation modules on the top.
At least, the TV tower became an extraordinary space for the architects themselves and also for all the rest of Cologne´s creative crowd.
The practice for architecture and tailored solutions DieckmannHartmann was formed in mid-2008.
‘Architecture and tailored solutions’ means we operate within the tension of concrete, sustainable architecture and enthusiastic visions. We create strong impressions and try to provoke by seeing things from a different angle. But not only the aesthetic statement counts. The principle of our team is to always to consider the design process as goal-oriented and sustainable, because we believe that the influence of (artificial) habitats on the well-being and productivity of a society is highly complex and needs responsible action", Christian Dieckmann explains.
